Undergraduate and Post-Bacc Researchers

​If you are a current undergraduate or post-bacc researcher wanting to enhance your science communications portfolio, consider volunteering as a Science Writer for our website!

​

This position is a freelance science communications opportunity where you will be able to post for our Brain Blog. You will be expected to write at minimum 4 popular science articles throughout the calendar year, with preference for 2 over the summer, 1 during fall, and 1 during spring.

​

Topics can range from anywhere in brain sciences, from animal research to computational modeling, as long as it is written to be easily understood by the general public. Due to this restriction, we prefer individuals from psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience or related backgrounds.

​

Graduate Students and Postdocs

If you are a current graduate student or postdoc, please consider joining our team as an Academic Advisor!

​

Tasks include updating our Guides with advice on navigating Masters or Ph.D. programs, as well as answering any questions that can come up in the Forum pages.

​

We are looking for scientists that want to make academia more accessible to a general audience, and want to inspire the next generation of academics.

High Schoolers and Undergraduates

If you are a current high school or undergraduate student, please consider joining our team as an Scientific Editor!

This role would require that you peer review and/or edit 2 articles per quarter, leading to 4 over summer, 2 in fall, and 2 in spring.

​

We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply for this position, as this is a stepping stone to learning more about the brain sciences and ensuring that our articles are written for the general public.
